The battle is still going on and the youth is now in the middle of it. They are going to lose this battle so the men start retreating. Henry wants to figure out why they are losing the battle so he grabs on to one of the running soldiers and tries to ask him, but the soldier just tells him to let go.Henry does not let go so the soldier takes his rifle and hits Henry in the head with it. Henry struggles to get up, but finally does and tries to find his regiment. He is in a lot of pain and is just thinking about laying down and going to sleep when a cheery soldier comes up to him and offers to help him find his way. They finally reach Henry's regiment and the cheery soldier leaves Henry to find his own regiment when Henry realizes that he never saw the soldiers face.
Henry is in a great amount of pain now, if it wouldn't have been for that cheery soldier Henry might have never made it back to camp.
I thought they were far from Henry's regiment, so how did they make it their so quickly?
Who is the soldier that helped him?
