After they wait awhile the Henry's section begins to fight. At first he is very scared and wants to run but then as the enemies are coming closer he does not feel so alone and an outcast. He gets angry and starts firing his gun over and over. one soldier trys to run away and the lieutenate yells at him and beats him, so he goes back to fight. The captain is shot and dies After a long battle the enemies begin to retreat and the soldiers start to cheer.
The army goes from fleeing in fear to holding off the enemies.Henry is also not as afraid now he feels more a part of the army not just a lone indivdual.
